I know everyone wants to clown on a certain rich couple with an absurdly named baby using california’s 26 character law, but that law isn’t good actually… it makes perfectly normal names like José illegal… like you shouldn’t really be upholding that fucking law it’s obvious why they made it….

People have problems in california all the time because of this law, which makes their names illegal.

california will change the name in the record to fit the 26 character thing and if you have no idea how they decided to spell your name with characters that can’t perfectly be translated into english … you’re fucked and they’ll call your passport a fake because it wont be 26 characters….

Stop acting like it’s saving you from an absurd name when really it’s just fucking over pretty much everyone normal.
